MT/MTA Top-fixed aluminium guardrail

The M-SAFE guardrail with top-fixed system is a collective fall protection system that is installed fixed to the ground on metal structures, parapets or slabs without the need for waterproofing. Fixing to the ground remains the most economical solution to secure a roof or terrace.

The M-SAFE guardrail with top-fixed system is easy to install for the following reasons:

  • It has a screwless handrail fixing system, as well as plastic plugs that can be inserted into the uprights for fixing the knee-rails.
  • The knee-rails are delivered in packs of 7 and 5 units, installation using reduced ends.

Bases

The inclination of the guardrail is ensured by the top-fixed bases delivered in a straight version or inclined at 25°.

Instalation (See instructions)

  • Maximum distance between uprights: 1500 mm.
  • Minimum width of parapet: 125 mm.
  • Minimum fixing at 60 mm from the edge of the parapet.
  • Fixing of the bases in non-reinforced concrete c20/c25 using 2 x M10 plugs (optional, see loads according to instructions).
  • Self-drilling screw Ø4.8 × 32 mm with hexagonal head:
    • Fixing of the knee-rail to the upright.
    • Fixing of the accessories (angle, cap, end plug) to the handrails and knee-rails.
    • Fixing of the ends of handrails and knee-rails (tube junctions).
  • Conformity: EN ISO 14122-3:2016 – NF E85-015:2019 – NTC 2018.
  • Height of the parapet < 100 mm: Toe-board required.

WARNING: Before any use, consult the instructions corresponding

  • Aluminium toe-board h 180 mm.
  • Toe-board junction fixing with 2 x M8 x 10 mm socket screws.
  • Fixing the toe-board to the upright thanks to a Ø4,8 x 32 mm self-drilling screw.
